Hey everyone, we're bringing back banishment. 

Seriously though, we put too many people in prison in the United States. What if convicted criminals were, under certain circumstances, exiled from their city, state, or nation instead of imprisoned? Could we improve public safety while reducing the cost and inhumanity of having such a large prison population? 

Sounds outlandish, so outlandish the solution is from another universe? Perfect for SFTM!
