When Sam Talbot arrives at the Fifth Southern General Hospital in 1915, she is a naïve but committed young woman keen to 'do her bit’.  Using poetry and anecdotes from real First World War hospitals, we tell the story of her experiences as she seeks to find her feet in a situation almost beyond her imagination.
