We have been created by God to contribute and not just consume. There is something within each of us that inspires us to be part of something greater.

Several years ago, thirteen teenage soccer players in Thailand were hopelessly trapped in a subterranean cave. Rescue teams from different nations in the world cooperated to deliver the young men from a certain grave. We watched as the drama unfolded. Every one of us prayed that against all odds they would be rescued. We collectively wanted to be part of something heroic.

God has placed that in our hearts: the yearning to be part of something greater, something heroic. We want our lives to count. We want to contribute and not just consume.
