Steve Jones from the Concert Pipeline podcast recently flew out to Seattle for the SoCo show and had a chance to sit down with Andrew and Josh for an interview. We talk about his experience, we discuss one of Andrew’s first ever recorded songs, and we touch on a lot of pop culture references on this one. Steve even asked Andrew to tell us a bit about this song, so we have some audio from the interview to hear from the songwriter himself! Let’s take a trip back to the 1980s! Who knew this would be something after all?

Let’s recap our experience on Day 2 of the Four Chord Music Festival 10 to see Something Corporate! Hanging with friends (and making new ones!), being part of this great live music community, and surviving the weather are all themes of this episode! We were so excited to talk about all the bands leading up to SoCo and their set in particular, that I realized we FORGOT to talk about the All-American Rejects set, which I DID enjoy! As long as you’re not coming to listen for the AAR set recap, then I think you’ll enjoy hearing about the rest of our exciting experience at the festival!

We’re doing something a little different for our 80th episode! Here’s a song that wasn’t written or co-written by Andrew, or even by Josh. But Something Corporate covered this song over 20 years ago and it must have been a significant song for the guys. We explore what makes it so special and learn a bit about the original artist. Are there any Bjork fans here?

We have a new guest joining the show to talk about a more modern song that has had a lot of time in setlists on previous tours, but we don’t hear talked about too much among the fanbase lately. We talk about what makes this one unique among the discography, draw some comparisons to the latest album, and share our opinions about the songwriting, production, lyrics, and more! Is this one of your favorites? There’s also a special treat at the beginning from my daughters and I.
