  • 16: control, you dont need it! (all the time)
besides the control you have over what you do, say, wear, eat, etc. leave control at the door. The first mistake we can make is making ourselves believe that if something doesn't go the way we want, everything else is doomed. Allow yourself to believe everything is workout-able. So what the sun didn't shine and now you cant read your favorite book at the beach?
Now you can catch up on your favorite show and read a chapter in between episodes. So what someone decided to cancel and not hangout with you?
Thats okay too! In fact, now you have more time to work on that new hobby or call your mom. I guess the purpose of this is, you'll be okay once you do your part and let the world do theirs. as always, please let us know your thoughts/topic suggestions by leaving a review or messaging us on @somethingsoff.la on IG <3

  • 15: insecurity, womp womp
yeah, its normal but lets not entirely normalize it. Insecurity can stem from a variety of different places whether that be upbringings, comparison, or embarrassment. Either way, it doesn't define us. It's a little voice in our head we can choose to ignore. Insecurity can ruin the self we have worked so hard to build up. So post that picture, send that text, wear that outfit, go for that thing you so want. Be as authentically you as possible so when you're 90 something reflecting on your life, you can proudly say you were wholeheartedly yourself and
everything else was simply out of your control. as always, please let us know your thoughts/topic suggestions by leaving a review or messaging us on @somethingsoff.la on IG <3

  • 14: end of year anxieties
Ending the new year with a list of things you haven’t done is not the best feeling in the world, in fact its one of the worst feelings that can come with being a human with no blueprint. Setting your goals in the beginning of the year does not always mean you have one year to complete them. Some goals can follow through the next year and the next, depending on not only their complexity but also where you are in life. Everyone is at a different point in their life and comparison is at the tip of our finger with social media consumption. Scrolling away can lead one to a never ending loop of feeling bad for ourselves. May this podcast serve as a reminder that it is okay to have unfinished goals at the end of a year, goals that maybe don’t align with who you were on January 1st, or goals that will take a bit longer as we all run our own race. Where you are is a crucial step to where you are going to be. As always, please let us know your thoughts/topic suggestions by leaving a review or messaging us on @somethingsoff.la on IG

With that in mind we hope this message will bring you peace of mind as you go through life and experience the highs and lows that friendships bring. as always, please let us know your thoughts/topic suggestions by leaving a review or messaging us on @somethingsoff.la on IG

welcome to our new series, pillow talk, where we discuss our late night thoughts. todays theme centers around being where your feet are (staying present/living in the moment). we touch on the importance of creating a calm mental environment for yourself before bed. we know how easy it is to let your mind race before bed but unless you’re going to get up right then and do something about it, over thinking about it doesn’t actually help anything. we share some of our real, raw, late night racing thoughts and how we reallocate the energy used to overthink to calm and organize our thoughts. as always, please let us know your thoughts/topic suggestions by leaving a review or messaging us on @somethingsoff.la on IG

  • 7: you’re wrong about everything (so are we)
today we wanted to tell everyone— you know nothing, and we don’t either. coming from two people who absolutely love being right, we are reminding ourselves true learning and growth can only ever come from being wrong and admitting that we don’t know everything. its important to accept things as they are, and accept not knowing. remembering that there isn’t always “right” and “wrong” but rather different perspectives. as always, please let us know your thoughts/topic suggestions by leaving a review or messaging us on @somethingsoff.la on IG
