Sometimes Ignorance is the Advantage | ReWire 1064

Listen Later

Most people don't realize that ignorance is sometimes an advantage.

When I worked in the Mortgage business, I saw it everyday.

Loan officers didn't truly know how much a bank was making on the back end, so they only sold the rate they were told to sell.

Had they known what the real rate was, they would've frozen up thinking the client knows what the real rate is.

Let's say you want to start a business.

If you knew it would be hard, would you still go for it?

If you knew there was a risk you could lose money?

Relationships?

I didn't know all the risks involved when I went into business.

I'm glad I didn't know what I know now.

I probably never would've started.

I wouldn't have been ignorant enough to take the risks or have the belief in myself that it was possible to actually build something bigger than myself.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss, but only if you can use it to your advantage.
