Christianity is all about having a relationship with Jesus. Fortunately for us, Jesus gives us endless love and new life for free. But just because it’s free, doesn’t mean the Christian life is always easy.
G.K. Chesterton once said, “The problem with Christianity is not that it has been tried and found wanting, but that it has been found difficult, and left untried.” Sometimes I hear from people who say they want the life that Jesus offers, but they are fearful of giving up certain behaviors or ways of this world. What these people don’t know is that in in giving up our old selves, we find abundant life. The Bible says in Matthew 16:24-26 "…Jesus told his disciples, 'If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.'”
The Christian walk can at times be difficult. Especially in this day and age. But I promise you, a life lived for Jesus is a life of true abundance. It is a life filled with the Holy Spirit. It is greater than anything else we could have here on earth. Pass that on to your friends.
