Stephanie shares how she entered menopause at 44, including unpredictable moods, angry outbursts described as rage, disrupted sleep, and feeling out of character. She explains how she initially looked for external fixes—adaptogens like ashwagandha, magnesium, and avoiding nightshade vegetables due to a thyroid condition—before realizing she was trying to change her chemistry instead of looking at her life, where she was overcommitted, quietly resentful, and not asking for support or holding boundaries at home.
She reframes hormones as an “amplifier” rather than the root cause, describing estrogen as energy/libido and a stress shield, and progesterone as calming and grounding; when both fluctuate and drop, irritability, anxiety, brain fog, sleep disruption, and higher cortisol can follow.
She shares that her biggest shift came from becoming someone who pauses through daily meditation, which reduced intensity and helped her respond instead of react.
