still waiting patiently
for that girl who was
meant for only me
I see her in
my dreams sometimes
she says “Please wait
and you’ll be mine.
My perfect match
my soul mate who
will make my world
so much less blue.
with so much in
common we’ll share
she’s coming soon
I must prepare
they say there’s
only one for you
and if you choose
somebody who
is not the one
then you will be
wondering how it
would have been to see
the girl that was
strictly reserved
only for you but
you threw a curve
we all should wait
for what we deserve.
I just turned
40 yesterday
I’ve turned so
many gals away
so here I am and
here I’ll stay
still hoping she
will come my way
a sworn bachelor
whose so alone
I wish she’d just
come around
on loan
I’d win her over
and she’d
share my home
I wish the fates
would toss me a bone
Today I have
turned ninety three
still hoping she’s
out there for me
but my wounded heart
is missing beats
and It’s getting really
hard to breathe
but wait quite
suddenly I see
that she at last
has come for me
all dressed in white
with lovely wings
she kisses me
while whispering
that now it’s time
for me to close
my weary eyes
as she’s proposed
then suddenly
I’m swept away
with her off to
much better days
in a place that
is quite heavenly
to find her lying
next to me
eternally…eternally
