Son-Kul is the story of a traveller leaving Balykchy for a horse-riding trip into the Kyrgyz steppe, where a shared taxi, a forgotten ATM, and a young Danish woman named Masha pull him into a journey he only half-planned. What begins as a practical route to Kyzart becomes a strange little caravan of guides, horses, tourists, yurts, lake water, football, rain, and brief companionship.
