Listen Later

Sonail Dhanpal is an architect and a built heritage conservationist. She is pursuing her PhD in architectural history and theory, her research work focuses on what it's like to live in a princely city in south India during the late 19th and early 20th century, she investigates urban expansion of Bangalore, residential extension, and how buildings are integral in understanding the culture and society. I'm terrible with most histories, but it surprises me that we can bring out many details and similarities, it also reminds me how fortunate we are to live in the 21st century. In this episode we talk about architecture, history and bubonic plague.
