Welcome back to Sonderland. I am your host, Luis Carrillo; and today’s episode is not part of a bigger chapter as normal; it is not part of a revival of Sonderland; it is a standalone episode, a conversation that I, in my heart of hearts, believe needed to be held. I am not a political activist, nor do I care much for politics; but just because Charlie Kirk was a political activist, does not make this exclusively a political assassination. This was an attack on freedom, the freedom to express oneself, the freedom to believe what one believes, and the freedom to not conform to the world, but be transformed by the renewal of our minds. I did not know Charlie Kirk, nor did I agree with everything he said, but we did agree on who God is, the direction this world is heading, and how in the face of adversity, one must speak more clearly, hold fast to one’s faith, more boldly, and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ fervently.
Today, you will not hear a conversation between two Christians; you will hear a conversation between a Christian and an agnostic man, whom I deeply admire, respect, and even love. You will hear honesty, whether you believe it to be true, agree, or even enjoy. Richard is a man who has been on this podcast once before, and if Sonderland were to exist until my dying breath, many times after; no matter the distance, time, or energy it requires. You will hear two men, who so deeply desire to see our cities, country, and world heal and come together. From two different voices, you will hear pain, sorrow, anger, over not just what happened one week ago today, but what has been happening, day in and day out, before not just our eyes, but yours as well.

Welcome to Sonderland Chapter 5: Episode 4 The Finale
India and I sit down in today's very special and very different episode to just lay all the rawness and future plans on the table. As you'll hear very early on in the episode, at the time of recording, I was/am going through a tough time in my life and my faith, and India just let me take this time to vent all about the weariness I've been experiencing.
You all get to hear India share her beautiful testimony, which is something I prayed for since coming to Christ Jesus, praise the Lord!
Oh yeah, and we talk about influence and such, but what you won't want to miss is the end where we talk about chapter 6, as we head into our one year mark, and what to expect for year two...
Without further ado, please sit back, relax, and enjoy the Chapter 5 Finale!

Welcome to Sonderland Chapter 5: Episode 3
In today’s episode, I get to sit down with Lauren, India’s cousin, to discuss the influences that life has to offer. She, as a self-made business woman, teaches me all about how the idea of climbing a social ladder has influenced her to be her own boss. We talk about how money can provide access, status, influence, or everything above in this world. How the generations before us leave us emotional inheritances, both good and bad, and how it affects or strengthens us in our older years. As we begin to wrap up this chapter, we here at Sonderland are excited for you to hear the differing and similar opinions across the three guests and how India and I see influence in the final episode. Stay tuned for the chapter 5 finale, airing on February 21st!

Welcome to Chapter 5: Episode 2
We travelled to the far-off land of Las Vegas to sit down with Richard to talk all things "influence." In a world where talking about certain topics or holding certain opinions close to the chest out of fear of getting "cancelled," Richard opens up and shares the deep well of knowledge hiding underneath a full head of curly hair.
Since Sonderland's genesis, I have always wanted to have deep, meaningful, raw conversations, and here at "SND," we strive to create an environment that allows for just that, and as you'll see in this episode, Richard does not hold back from speaking his truth.
Please enjoy this conversation as much as we enjoyed having it, and if you haven't yet, please go check us out on Instagram and Tiktok @TheSonderlandPod!

Welcome to Sonderland Chapter 5: Episode 1
Returning from our short hiatus, we kick off Chapter 5 with Karen. Influence is all around us, it comes from social media, pop culture, celebrities, and even those around us. During this chapter, we here at Sonderland intend to dive deeper into this multi-directional force that seems to be inescapable in this day an age. We hope you enjoy this episode and make sure to tune in all chapter long!

BONUS EPISODE!
This episode is odd, almost too odd to be a podcast episode. You'd best think of it as a phone call from me to you, but it's like 2 am, and you're on the other side asleep and I just "yap" away.

Welcome to a Chapter 4 BONUS episode!
Sometimes life gets in the way, we're all human. This episode is just me, myself, and you.
On today's episode, we look at some articles and answer some questions about forgiveness. Solo episodes aren't my forte, so in light of forgiveness, please forgive me for how odd I get in this episode..
Until next time, enjoy this special bonus episode!
