Sonny and Cher started their career as backup singers for Phil Spector. Many never knew that Sonny could not read music and Cher is dyslectic. The last time I saw Sonny and Cher together was in 1974 at Mitchell Field.  They had arrived in Hugh Hefner’s big bunny plane. Cher went directly to a waiting limo and would not talk to anyone. I could see there was friction between the couple and shortly thereafter it was announced that they were divorcing.
