Identity is not assigned by function or behavior. It is given by name, and the name you carry in Christ is the one above every other name.
This teaching continues a series on the layered reality of sonship: known by the Spirit, named in the Son, glorified in the Father. The focus lands on Philippians 2:9-11, where the argument is not simply that Jesus was given a great name, but that the name given to him carries a specific revelatory function. To know that name is to encounter the fatherhood of God. Every knee bows not merely at a title, but at the unveiled reality of what that name discloses about the Father. From there, the teaching moves to John 17:11-12, where Jesus in his high priestly prayer asks the Father to keep believers in that same name. The implication is precise: being kept in the name of the Father is what produces oneness with God. The revelation of the name is not information about God. It is the entry point into union with him.
SCRIPTURE: Philippians 2:9-11, John 17:11-12
SERIES: Who Are You. A multi-week teaching tracing how identity received through sonship moves from being known by the Spirit, to being named in the Son, to being glorified in the Father.
