Jesus was described in Isaiah 53 as a man of sorrows and someone acquainted with grief. As Jesus’ disciples, we experience what Jesus did. Not only can Jesus relate to us in our sorrow and grief, but he wants us to grow deeper in our love of him through them and not be detoured by the pain. Sorrow and grief are also keys that the Lord has given us to identify areas in society and culture that need to be set right and we need to ask the Lord to lead us by his grief.
