Psalms 137 beginning at verse 1, "By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept when we remembered Zion. We hung our harps upon the willows in the midst of it." You know, the sense of lost in this particular moment in history must have been overwhelming. The people must have thought, "how could we have done this to our God, to let His name fall into such reproach and His blessings, slip right through our fingers. And where will we ever find the strength again to rejoice?" Later in the Psalm, we see that it would not be found in simply trying to do better, but in the fact that God promises never to forsake those He calls His own. It is true, my friend, weeping may endure for a night, but joy will come again in the morning. It's time to pray!
