Lee G spends a bit of time chatting with our round 2 opponents forwards coach Rito Hlungwani. Rito is one of the nicest guys in the game and the chat ranges from the weather (obviously), to recruitment through off season, expectations for this season, the SA team and the World Cup and what the Scarlets can expect when we meet next week. It is well worth listening to the bit about schoolboy rugby and why it is so important for building the game in South Africa - and Rito's advice for the WRU.

This weeks pod has an in depth study into the Scarlets senior squad (Huw would like to stress - very strongly - that this does not include the academy, or players that we would like to see in the senior squad) and rating them from having something to prove to a definite starter! Lee G talks to Pembroke RFC backs coach and school friend, Darren Gilbert about the last couple of seasons and where the club is now. It has been a crazy few years for Pembroke, with rapid promotions to Division 1, a Cup final at the Principality stadium and then Covid, player retirements and relegation but the club is in a good position to go forward. Darren talks us through the preparations for this season, the young players coming through, the big local derby from last weekend, the growth of the womens game and his hopes for the future. A frustrating start to pre-season - but it is only pre-season! The Dragons game now takes on a little bit of importance with the key question being - will the Dragons take their kicks at goal? Martyn seems to think that the 'edge' between the Scarlets and Dragons has softened since the New Years game but Lee isn't convinced!

The Fiji game takes up a lot of our time this week and it is mainly the rugby we discuss rather than the off field stuff. There is a little bit about that and how much the english love to moan about stuff that has nothing to do with them!

We also discuss the prospect of Mason Grady running at you full pelt and the survival techniques that may come in handy at that point. The prospects of a win over Portugal are assessed as well as how long we would like to see certain players on the pitch.

Finally we discuss the Scarlets v Barbarians game and who we might see on both sides.

At last - the community game is back and the first week was a cracker. The changes in divisions have thrown up some interesting matches and the boys try to get through them all as best they can.
