In this summer finale episode for Soul Supremacy, I couldn’t have thought of a more fitting person to cap of all of the amazing stories + interviews I’ve done this entire summer. Just for some context, I’ve always known that whenever Marissa decides to come on the podcast is surely a very important one and it is indeed, a really important one. In this episode, I was able to sit down and have a very meaningful one-on-one with Marissa about her overall journey being a Filipina, queer storyteller and how she ultimately used her superpower to turn her greatest heartbreak into an art, that will soon be witnessed by everyone via @always.filamfilm next week for the SDFFF24!!
Again, thank you so much to everyone who’s not only supported me in this endeavor since its fruition in 2021 to now my very unexpected yet very fulfilling soft launch back into the pod. Because of this, “SOUL SUPREMACY” will come back for a 4th season in January 2025. For now, please enjoy almost all 50 episodes featuring so many amazing stories of perseverance, courage and hope to be able to live their most authentic lives.

Happy September folx, and we are down to the last 4 episodes of the summer edition of the podcast. As I am typing this, I am reckoning with very bittersweet feelings as I get ready to head back to LA for the rest of the summer. I am super happy that I was able to finally Cheska Navarro on the show as we’ve been following each other’s work online for some time now.

In this episode, I had the honor to sit down and get to know more about Cheek’s overall journey from growing up as an artist, and eventually facing the decision of following her dreams as she carved her own path as she switched from medicine to music.

As both freelancers of Filipino + immigrant parents, we were definitely able to relate on touch on some very hard topics about family dynamics, expectations and ultimately choosing to push through against all of the odds.

Thank you all for the love + the support that you’ve been giving this 3.5 version of the podcast. I’ll be honest returning back to content creating has been both very fulfilling and also quite a journey as well in integrating myself back into the flow + mix. But recording all of these episodes so far (and we have many more exciting guest coming up before our summer finale!) has also been very healing too.
From last week’s episode, where we brought in the vibrant Jasper and shared his life’s bliss + creative journey, I wanted to bring another perspective into their life + artistic journey being someone in their 30’s. With that being said, Martha Gaters was the dream guest for this episode. I met her a few years back and definitely am so lucky to not only have gotten to know her as a person but also finally be in community with her too - specifically being a part of the “FILAM FILM COLLECTIVE”
I have always been curious to know more about her and her overall life journey in how she was able to get to where she is, how both being an artist, resiliency and being curious has finally brought her to where she is now.

As they say, third times a charm! I am so happy to be back for another FRESH episode for the podcast ft. my kapatid Jasper Capalad. I’ve had the honor of first witnessing his on-screen acting prowess in Charles Gray’s “Velvet Sky” back in 2022 and eventually getting to meet this young one, being in community together and ultimately being friends.

For this current season comeback, I knew that Jasper was definitely on the list because his outlook on life as a 22-year old is very much something that reminded me of myself a decade ago. I knew that I had to get this guy on my show to talk about all things, passion, film and being unapologetic.

Lastly, Jasper spills tea on his latest, “UNTITLED” launching debut album which documents the ever-so-bliss of his growing up which doesn’t shy away from hard  topics such as breakups, depression and etc.

Hey yall! We are actually officially back on the podcast for our officially Season 3.5 as a continuation to the season that was started and had to be on indefinite hiatus back in April 2022 due to life lifing! But I am so happy to be back with FRESH new episodes ft. amazing artists that I get to call friends.
For today’s follow up episode, we have another powerhouse, a triple talent to be exact, a dancer, actress and singer + most importantly an amazing mother and lawyer - my friend, Elle Rodriguez from Kayla Galang’s award-winning Sundance 2023 film, “When You Left Me on That Boulevard” where I also had the honor of being part of the production, and her follow up project as a Daniela Ramos on “Jadore Le Jus” the following year.
This has really been a much awaited podcast collab as I’ve been wanting to have her on the show since then. In this episode we get to know a lot more about her humble beginnings in being an aspiring actress (she even got to work with the Brilliante Mendoza), how motherhood has shaped her to be a resilient person to her children and how she ultimately is reclaiming her pursuing her dreams in making it to Hollywood the second time around after being a lawyer.

We're finally back on programming for the third season of Soul Supremacy with one of my favorite people tonight,  @Alan Segui ,  a content creator, freelancer, and a very unapologetic person all the way from my birthtown, Mandaluyong City, PI. He has been a part of my journey as a content creator ever since I started on Youtube back in 2018 with one of his very iconic videos about quitting his job to become a freelance (MUST WATCH!!) that also paralleled my journey as well. I am so happy that after all of these years, I am finally able to have the iconic, "ALAN SEGUI" on the brand new episode tonight.
