On this episode of soul words we dive into causes of separation, whether it be in intimate relationships, platonic friendships and all that’s related to it. How does separation affect us and what boundaries do we need to set when it comes to the influence people have in our lives.

“Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The example of a good companion (who sits with you) in comparison with a bad one, is like that of the musk seller and the blacksmith's bellows (or furnace); from the first you would either buy musk or enjoy its good smell while the bellows would either burn your clothes or your house, or you get a bad nasty smell thereof."

Abu Bakrah reported: A man praised another man in the presence of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.

The Prophet said, “Woe to you! You have cut your companion’s neck! You have cut your companion’s neck! If one of you inevitably praises his companion, let him say: I consider him to be good and Allah will hold him accountable. I cannot testify to anyone’s purity before Allah, but I consider him good as far as is known.”
