By targeting each patient’s unique tumor, precision medicine is defeating once untreatable cancers. Precision medicine is very successful with some types of cancer, however, only about one in ten patients is currently eligible for these treatments. Researchers are trying to expand the number of patients they can treat with targeted therapies. Using artificial intelligence they are hunting fort hundreds of potential genetic targets.
