Episode 64 features guest Sæunn Thorsteinsdóttir, (she/her), an Icelandic-American cellist who has appeared as a soloist with the BBC Symphony, LA Philharmonic, Toronto, Seattle, and Iceland Symphonies. Recently, she released an album of Icelandic music, “Vernacular”, on the Sono Luminus label, and her recording of the cello concerto “Quake” by Páll Ragnar Pálsson with the Iceland Symphony was nominated for a 2020 Grammy award. She recently recorded the Six Suites for Solo Cello by J. S. Bach which is slated for release in early 2022.
