This is Earth Week! In today´s Sound Journey 03: Huahuas Basement. This 1568-foot-deep cenote in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, is the home and shelter to thousands of Guacamayas, which fly out during sunrise after waking up. The sonic spectacle resembles a natural turbine that propels the birds up. You can here the sunrise energy waking up the Huahuas and the rest of the jungle, along with an impressed Sergio Isauro here and there.
Our Sound Journey series seeks to inspire curiosity about our planet and its diverse environments through sound.
composed and recorded by Sergio Isauro @tejedor__ in 2013 at the entrance of the Huahuas Basement or Sótano de las Huahuas.
