Sounds From Sunday Morning

It can be tempting to think of the Ten Commandments as just a list of rules given by a God who is far removed from the problems and concerns of his people. When we remove the commands from their context, they sound like arbitrary rules. And yet, there's a story behind these commandments. What is God doing in those moments when we find ourselves in the wilderness? We may be tempted to think that God is absent or unaware. God’s people in Exodus 17:1-7 certainly seem to think so. Verse 7 makes this especially clear. Could it be that God is not only aware of our situation, but also working for our good?
