South Africans still emigrating in their numbers despite pandemic

Did you know that an average of 25 000 South Africans immigrates per year?

According to the United Nations estimates that the number of South African-born people residing outside the country has increased from 330,000 in 1990 to well over a million in 2020.

While the pandemic has delayed the relocation process, it has not deterred many South Africans’ decisions to emigrate, or to have a Plan B, should they wish to leave in the future. Rather than waiting for international travel to reopen, they are using this Covid-19 period to finalize their administrative requirements required to relocate internationally.
