The 43-year-old Shane Beamer has never even been a coordinator, but he's got loads of experience under a few of college football's best coaches — Lincoln Riley, Kirby Smart, Steve Spurrier, plus think about whose household he grew up in. That rolodex plus Beamer's love for the program and the vouching of the Gamecock greats who he recruited and coached were enough to land him the gig.
