It’s Friday, May 1st and here are today’s top headlines from the newsroom of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. I’m Trevor Ontiveros. Since the coronavirus pandemic began, 159,878 people have been swabbed in the South Florida counties of Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties. State data released on Thursday shows that 20,058 of those tested have been diagnosed with COVID-19. If you do the math, 12.5% of all tests have come back positive.
