The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed Monday that two Florida residents had contracted the disease caused by coranavirus. The confirmation came as state leaders moved to bolster defenses against COVID-19, the name of the illness caused by the virus, after it was detected over the weekend in two Florida residents.
