Fashion shows happen all the time - you’ve got fashion weeks in different cities like New York, Paris, Milan, and London. They’re typically hosted twice a year to showcase winter and summer editions.

It's like a different world out there, but the closer you look, you’ll realise how, like in every other industry, fashion weeks are all about creating access to markets for upcoming local designers. 

We shift our focus now to the Soweto Fashion Week… having bounced back from the tough times that were a result of the covid-19 pandemic where designers, hairdressers and modelers were hard hit, young South African designers are ready to showcase their products and to add to the rich history of South Africa’s clothing and textile.
