In the 50s and 60s man approaching the stars inspired bandleaders to create space age pop. In the seventies the pop sci-fi boom brought us the golden age of space rock and the birth of space ambient and as the 90's approached nostalgia drove many alternative rock and jam bands to to borrow elements from the 70's peak and the adjacent neo-psych movement to redefine space rock for a new era.
