For some people, the holidays are when we reduce our workloads and give ourselves more time to relax and connect with our people. But for others, especially high-achievers, the holidays can feel like there's even less space for ourselves than usual.
I want you to think about how much space you're giving yourself right now and how much you plan on giving yourself over the holidays.
And I don't just mean physical space, although that is important. There are several different kinds of space that each serves a purpose, from Covid space and deal space to thinking space and re-entry space. Travel space, too, for when we can do that again.
Despite our cultural programming to always be productive, when we give ourselves space, we allow our brains to refuel and recharge. We inspire creativity and new ideas and become kinder, more patient versions of ourselves.

With the holidays approaching, I know some high-achievers will struggle to give themselves permission to create space. Learn how it benefits you, your work, and your relationships to embrace space and not beat yourself up for it.
