Coming to y'all (a bit late, so sorry about that) with another podcast episode from the Chi Omega DEI team for the Phi Alpha chapter at GWU. We'll be speaking about Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Please make sure to listen to the beginning portion to hear our trigger and content warnings for the podcast. As always, reach out to us with any feedback or topics you want to hear us cover. In this episode, Hailey, Chandra, Sofia, Andrea, and Maria talk about the history behind the recent coverage of Palestine and Israel and the history of the two nations, anti-semitism on campus, performative activism, and how to have effective conversations surrounding this topic! Through respectful conversation, we hope that as a chapter we can continue to hold ourselves and each other accountable while having uncomfortable conversations. Please let us know if anything that was said did not resonate or made you uncomfortable, as we always want to do and be better for you as individuals, for the chapter, Chi Omega as whole, and for the GW community. We hope you enjoy!
In our debut episode, the D&I committee of the Phi Alpha chapter of Chi Omega talk about the stats of sexual assault and the harmful effects towards collegiate women. We offer our own stories, experiences, and tips on how to be a support sister for our members and other survivors of sexual assault. If you have experienced sexual assault, know that you are loved and that it was not your fault.
If you need someone to talk to, you can contact Rainn, a confidential 24/7 support line at (800) - 656 - 4673.
