An updated indictment has been filed by Special Counsel Jack Smith against former president Donald Trump for his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election. The filing came just 70 days before the election, which is within the Justice Department's requirements for any charges brought against a candidate must be filed more than 60 days before the election.
