Tensions have eased along the British Columbia coast as a tsunami warning issued early this morning has now been cancelled. The warning was issued shortly after a 7.9-magnitude quake struck off the coast of Alaska at about 1:30 a-m, but a wave with the potential to cause significant damage was not generated and the warning was lifted at about 4:30.
