The four weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are marked as a season of Advent on the Church calendar. This is a practice that dates to the 16th century when followers of Christ would reflect on the first coming of Jesus and His promise of return for His Bride. We will drop the reading for this year each Monday for the purpose of reflection and devotion. The passages are listed this week here.
