This is Stuart Whitehair, publisher and editor for the CU at the Game website, and your host for the CU at the Game podcast.
I am very pleased to introduce the first of two special episodes to open the sixth season of the podcast. Neill Woelk is a name familiar to most of the Buff Nation, with his 40-year career of covering Colorado football including three decades writing for the Boulder Daily Camera, and the past decade as the contributing editor for the CUBuffs.com website.
In this first episode, Neill graciously spends some time traveling down memory lane. Neill gives us his amusing story about how he became the first reporter to interview Bill McCartney (twice!) as CU’s new head coach. Then there is the 20-10 win over Nebraska, the Fifth Down game at Missouri, the national championship, the “Miracle at Michigan”, Bill McCartney’s surprise retirement announcement, 62-36, and much more.
If you are a long time fan of Colorado football, or a more recent fan interested in some great stories about the history of your new team, I believe you will enjoy this conversation between two longtime Buffs.
