We can tend to live sheltered lives these days. Removed by the force of time from events that so drastically shaped the world we live in today.

When compared to some of the things soldiers in the Pacific Theatre during WWII had to face we live in an idyllic future straight out of sci-fi... We only enjoy this degree of normality because of what some people sacrificed.
