Joseph shares Abraham Lincoln's Thanksgiving proclamation of 1984, declaring unusual health for all those who serve the Lord, just as Lincoln did in 1984 in celebration of Thanksgiving. He references 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 to emphasize the need to give thanks to God in all circumstances, for it is the will of God for us in Christ Jesus. Although God does not will for us to have difficulties, He can use them for His glory if we give Him thanks.

He also points us to Colossians 3:17 to encourage us to do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Joseph asserts that people who are always thankful are people who walk in favour and are a magnet for God's blessings. He cites Philippians 4:6 to caution against anxiety, as we're instructed to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let our request be known to God.
Joseph further leads us to 1 Chronicles 29:13 and Hebrews 13:15 to urge us to continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, giving thanks to His name. He reminds us that perious times will come in the last days, as men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, and unholy as revealed in 2 Timothy 3:1-2. He encourages us to have a heart of praise and thankfulness at all times, irrespective of the challenges that confront us.
