I was a hit-skip man
when it came to gals,
I'd love 'em and I leave 'em
hoping we could be pals...
Then I ran into a detour
whose heavenly eyes
took me by surprise and
then she made me her guy.....
She was my speed bump
on my road of life
she slowed me down
and so I made her my wife
but our journey into marriage
was full of potholes
so I'm getting off love's highway
.... tired of paying those tolls
I started off with one job
that turned into two
then I was working overtime
for you know who
to buy her fancy clothes
and designer shoes
tempting me into submission
with her baby blues....
She was my speed bump
on my road of life
she slowed me down
and so I made her my wife
but our journey into marriage
was full of potholes
so I'm getting off love's highway
.... tired of paying those tolls
Now I'm back out on the road
the way it used to be.
loving women but I stay
footloose and fancy free
fighting off all the girls
who try to capture me
into sharing their
loving for eternity......
There will be speed bumps
on my road of life
trying to slow me down
just to be my wife
but that journey into marriage
is so full of potholes
so I'm staying off that highway
