Spent - Week 1

Fighting a Losing Battle

How a person handles money is a good indicator of their spiritual life!

Let’s Decide to be Weird because Normal is not working.

The bottom line is, “normal” means “SPENT.”

√ Trust God Completely by choosing to live with contentment.

  • A key symptom of “stuff-itis” is nearsightedness
  • WHAT IS CONTENTMENT? It is “soul rest.”

PHILIPPIANS ‪4:10–13 ---
How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me. Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret to living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

  • Contentment means trusting God, not Visa.

Statistic - 7 out of 10 people can’t cover a $5,000 emergency without borrowing money.

(Proverbs ‪21:20) But “in the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil.”

√ Create a Spending Plan with a vision for Giving & Saving built into it.

  • Contentment means being thankful for what you have.

√ Commit to lifelong generosity which means the longer I live…the more life is about giving and less about getting.

  • Contentment means giving generously in all circumstances.

√ Recognize God has ownership of everything and I am called to be Manager of His blessing in my life.

WIN --- To trust God by choosing to be content regardless of my circumstances, by giving to God first, saving for future living, and spending 80% of my income.
