Insomniac announces Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine games

Sony and Insomniac Games are working on not one, but two new Marvel games. During the PlayStation Showcase, the company revealed that it’s developing a sequel to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man and 2020’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Slated to come out sometime in 2023 exclusively on PS5, Spider-Man 2 will feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, with the two set to face off against Venom.

While details provided were scarce, it was confirmed that Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter will reprise their respective roles as Peter and Miles, and Tony Todd will provide the voice for Venom.

In addition to Spider-Man 2, Insomniac Games is also working on Marvel’s Wolverine, a standalone game also coming exclusively to PS5. There’s neither a release date nor many details about the project for now aside from the teaser shown off during the Showcase.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds reveals more of its cast

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has revealed more of its cast for the upcoming prequel spinoff, depicting the adventures of the original USS Enterprise before James Kirk assumed command. It features the return of Anson Mount as Captain Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, and Ethan Peck as Spock, all reprising their roles from Discovery. The cast will be filled out by new actors playing other characters from the original series, with Celia Rose Gooding as Lieutenant Nyota Uhura, Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel and Babs Olusanmokun as Doctor M’Benga.

Unlike Discovery, however, Strange New Worlds is intended to be more episodic, with standalone installments similar to TOS and TNG. New characters also joining the cast include Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Melissa Navia as Lieutenant Erica Ortegas and Bruce Horak as Hemmer. The series will debut on Paramount+ sometime next year.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic getting PS5 remake

BioWare’s classic Star Wars RPG Knights of the Old Republic is getting a remake. Sony announced the title during its PlayStation showcase, revealing Aspyr is working on the project.

The game is currently set to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive at launch, with other potential versions coming at a later date. Aspyr notes that the game is a tremendous undertaking, encompassing almost every aspect of the original game, and that development is still in the early stages, so don’t expect it to release very soon.
