Spider veins are dilated, superficial blood vessels that appear close to the skin's surface in a web-like pattern, most commonly on the legs and face. They are usually red, blue, or purple and can be a cosmetic concern, though they may occasionally cause minor discomfort, like aching or burning. They can result from factors such as genetics, hormonal fluctuations, prolonged standing or sitting, and sun exposure.
