Legalism seeks to achieve forgiveness and acceptance from God by obedience to God, and not from the work of God’s grace on the believer's behalf. This is “churchianity” at its worst – when a ministry or a doctrine becomes exclusive. It’s admirable to have certain convictions and certain doctrinal persuasions–but never think it makes you better than anyone else. Obviously there are certain non-negotiable doctrines – but other things matter much less. Become no one’s judge – love people right where they are at.
