“To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.  All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.”

1 Corinthians 12:7-11

Spiritual gifts are ministries empowered by the Spirit carried out by willing individuals who are open to the Spirit’s leading. It seems as if we are going from hesitant to clumsy in the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit. How do we become more adept in the manifestation of the Spirit? We step out in faith and attempt to be instruments of good in the hands of God. We find ourselves at “gifts of healing”. We will linger considerably longer at this category because it demanded a significant amount of time in the earthly ministry of our Lord and the early church as well.
