On today's episode of the Split the Corner Podcast, Kaz and Kyle are diving into National Sober Day.  We support all of our friends and listeners who choose not to imbibe some adult beverages, but if you're going to take up a bar stool, make sure you're tipping your bartender.  After the guys get done taking mocktails to task, they are getting into whether or not they would survive a zombie apocalypse.  Kaz, with all of his Boy Scout training and survival skills would probably be alright.  Kyle, on the other hand, is probably a zombie within the first few hours or an emissary to survivalists down the street.  However you might fare, we hope you get this episode in before the zombies take over.  Cheers!

Welcome to the first episode of the second season of the Split the Corner Podcast!  Kaz and Kyle are back and we are jumping right into a debate that has been raging since the very first episode of this podcast: what are the 25 greatest sports movies of all time?  Having already locked in the lists for basketball and football movies, the guys are getting this season started by diving in to the best baseball movies around and trust us when we say that controversy will arise.  There are some things that got left off that might not sit well with some of our listeners, but it wouldn't be a debate about baseball movies if everyone walked away happy.  We are thrilled to be back and super excited to get season 2 of the Split the Corner Podcast off and running!  Cheers!

Summer is just over halfway over and with so much happening in the greater Philadelphia area and beyond, Kaz and Kyle thought there was no better time than the present to check in and discuss what has been going on while we've been away.  The biggest story of the summer was the World Cup and since Philly was one of the host cities, the boys of STC had a front row seat to the goings on and have a lot to say about the tournament.  That was followed up immediately the MLB All-Star Game being hosted at Citizen's Bank Park and of course there was a lot to unpack there as well.  And if all that wasn't enough, the 76ers acquired the services of the LeBron James in a truly flabbergasting turn of NBA events.  A lot can happen when you're on "vacation" and we are jumping in head first.  See you all in September!

We apologize for having to start things off this way, but today is National Sorry Day, so in keeping with that spirit, we're sorry to say that we are marking the end of the first season of the Split the Corner Podcast with today's episode.  Kaz and Kyle are taking the last episode of the season to take a look at what the summer months have meant throughout their lives and how they've changed over the years.  From concerts and music festivals to playing outside and hiding under fir trees with pinecones stuck in uncomfortable places, this is the last day of school episode before the summer break.  Don't worry, because we will be back for season 2 right after the kids go back to school.  Have a great summer, everybody, and thank you for listening to the Split the Corner Podcast!

It is National " YA DIG" day here on today's episode of the Split the Corner Podcast and we have now gotten to the point where it is possible that some of these national days are trying just a little too hard.  YA DIG day is definitely one of those days.  While an acronym promoting positivity, Kaz and Kyle dive into why this one may just be a bridge too far.  Once we've gotten all of that out of our systems, we are throwing it back to an episode where the guys discussed nerd culture and things that may be seen by people on the outside as "nerdy".  We realized after releasing that episode, that Kaz and Kyle never really dove into any of their own nerdier preferences.  That curtain is getting pulled way the hell back today as we are jumping head first into used church puppets, online wrestling federations, booze, and sports.  Bring on the pocket protectors and asthma inhalers because the STC nerd cat is out of the bag!

On today's episode of the Split the Corner Podcast, we are celebrating National Superhero Day!  We're diving into Kaz and Kyle's personal favorite superheroes, what super powers they would want, and why the power to speak and understand every language on earth might be helpful, but would make for a magnificently boring movie.  After that, we're diving back into our STC greatest sports movies of all time list and concentrating on the ol' pigskin.  That's right, we are pulling out our favorite football movies and, believe it or not, it is the most hotly contested debate to date.  Kaz makes some pretty strong points on why there should be football movies in football while Kyle thinks taking place in a football front office should be enough.  What side of the fence do you land on?  Let us know after you enjoy this episode of the Split the Corner Podcast.  Cheers!
