Tia Maria, the author of Miss Independent: Overrated, is a native of St. Louis, Missouri.  She is the youngest of five children. Tia is a freelance writer and poet who uses love, humor and poetry to captivate, encourage and motivate those around her. Tia is faith-driven and uses her experiences to help others reach their goals. After her life took a drastic change she didn’t allow it to stop her.
