This week, we’re breaking down the recent abduction of 84‑year‑old Nancy Guthrie. On January 31st 2026, Nancy spent the evening with her family — dinner, games, a completely ordinary night — before being dropped back home.

But by the next morning, February 1st, everything had changed. Nancy was supposed to visit a friend to watch a virtual church service… but she never arrived. Her family were contacted, then 911 was called, and police carried out a welfare check at her home. Nancy wasn’t there — and chillingly, her security camera captured footage of a masked man. Wherever Nancy went, it wasn’t by choice.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. Still no answers. Police have released only limited information, leaving the public to fill in the gaps — and online theories have spread like wildfire, blurring the line between fact and fiction.

In this episode, we walk through the confirmed timeline from law enforcement before looking at the most common theories to see whether any of them hold weight.

He began as a simple photo editing contest entry, but the myth took off, spreading through forums, creepy pasta threads, and late night whispers. He became the perfect modern monster - a blank canvas for fear.

However, no one expect that in 2014 the line between fiction and reality blurred when two twelve year old girls, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, believed that they had been chosen by Slenderman to be his proxies and planned a brutal attack on their friend, also twelve years old, Payton Leutner.
