Sport governing bodies in 30 years

Listen Later

Since the times of Coubertin the Olympic Movement has implemented the same model and the same structure.

Michael Naversnik proposes a new governance and management model that could create a different future for the athletes and the sports world. Michael shared with us two powerful proposals:

  • Transforming the sports world: moving from B2B (meaning International Federations to National Federations) to B2C (International Federations to Athletes).
  • Centralization vs decentralization: what’s the best for sports? How to find the perfect mix?

Michael Naversnik is our guest in SCORE Podcast and he combines over 10 years of global management consulting with more than 10 years of strategy and development roles in the sports, public, NGO sectors and beyond.

Mike shared with us his ideal future and highlighted different pillars through the episode, why and how the transformation of the sports world is needed and some of the difficulties that the Olympic Movement faces today when we talk about sports development, and engagement with grassroots and athletes.
