Do you ever find yourself comparing your child with another athlete on his  or her team or with a sibling?

I began this podcast with the idea that comparison was not good, but I learned even as I talked with my guest Caz McCaslin from Upward Sports, that not all comparison is bad. In fact, there is healthy and unhealthy comparison. You will really want to listen to what he says about comparison. It totally shed a new light on it for me.

Caz started Upward Sports in 1995, (you can read the whole story at Upward.org) The organization has grown from several hundred children playing in one church basketball league to the world’s largest Christian youth sports league, with more than half a million children playing in 5,000 programs (multisport clinics, camps, academies and leagues) with more than 2,000 church partners in 45 states. During the past 19 years, more than 5 million young athletes have been involved with Upward Sports.  Caz started Upward in 1995 and it is what I’d guess you’d call a faith-based sports organization for kids.

After you listen to the podcast, check out Upward Sports and check out all their resources, teams and opportunities for kids to enjoy sports.

Also, if you are struggling with politics on your child’s team this season, get my podcast and report on Navigating the Politics of Youth Sports. I promise it will offer help to maneuver the messiness.
