SUMMARY:

Easter weekend- take care with the extra 4-wheelers out on the road.

Safety

- Last week 3 blow overs, all were empty and in transit

- If weather conditions are not good, we want you to get off the road

- East/West highway with a North/South wind- trailer behind you acts like a kite, especially on wide open spaces

Freight

- Holiday week- satisfied with freight this week with the impact of Good Friday and Easter

- Normal for us to have a small lull in the week or two after Easter

- Awaiting grill and fresh produce season- coming soon!

- We will be very busy rolling into summer

- Next week OTR has a review from a customer/driver/Hirschbach standpoint to work on our network

Equipment

- Have started to receive new equipment- 9 Freightliners this week and 9 more next week

- New Navistar’s come the end of May

- 2018 trailers are going to start coming out of the fleet and new ones will start to be incorporated

- 2019 Kenworth’s and 2019 Navistar’s are next to be turned over in the fleet

Inspections at KC and EDU

- Inspection bays are being installed in KC and EDU- we have listened to our drivers and hear you loud and clear that equipment needs to be inspected. We are modifying the yards to implement this procedure
