Can everyone sprint? Yes

Can everyone be a sprinter? NO

 

Can everyone play basketball? Yes

Can everyone be a basketball player? NO

 

Frustration in many men is that they have believed the Hollywood lie that all men have the capacity to be rugged leaders and take charge and make things happen… thats not the case at all. 

 

In scripture 2 Tim. 2:2 says 

and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.

*Not all are able

 

Able: Competent, qualified

 

Lets go back to my first point. Can you sprint? Yes, are you a sprinter? NOPE.

 

There are middle school sprinters… already identified in Middle School who will be a good sprinter… this typically doesn’t change in high school.

In HS Those who could sprint in MS face tougher competition… so some will not really be considered sprinters anymore compared to the faster students.

In college - same thing. Greater competition so some drop out, some are cut… but the best rise to the top. It does not mean those who were cut are not sprinters… it just means they may not be recognized as sprinters compared to the elite.

The OLYMPICS… THE BEST COMPETITION.

Most are cut and do not make it… those cut - are they still sprinters? YES. but in comparison to the elite… they are not typically considered sprinters by the worlds opinion.

 

So can you lead… sure, are you a leader? Maybe.

Can I sprint, sure am I a sprinter? NO

Can I learn how to sprint faster? sure… but with very little if any potential, so I should not expect much, and I should not get mad when people do not ask me to be on their sprinting team… 

AND HOW DARE THEM TO ASK ME TO BE THE TOWEL BOY…

Can someone become a greater leader- sure. Will you become a great leader… many of us- NO.

And how dare some leader come along and ask me to be his assistant…

 

Do you see where this is going? 

 

Some of you are afraid to step up and lead… maybe it is because you are not a leader. But you could join forces by serving a leader and making a difference. 

In fact you making a difference in this world would be better achieved and realized if you just chose to come along side a leader and serve him.
